The 2011-2012 Health Survey conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, studied 50,000 participants across Australia. It shows some frightening statistics. Weight is an increasing issue in Australia. 63.4% of people over the age of 18 are now overweight or obese. At the same time the recommended daily intake of whole foods, that is fruits and vegetables is at a low of only 5.6% of people over the age of 18.
The same study states that being overweight or obese increases the chance of developing Type 2 Diabetes.
ABC News reported the findings.
