Diabetic Health Clinic Newsletter – 24/3/2014
Greetings,
This week whilst our new web site is being fine tuned we are busily putting in place our next lifestyle programs. Obviously as a recipient of our newsletter you can join, there is no cost, just a massive improvement to your health. For many people this means a substantial weight loss. More importantly the change involves embracing and eating the foods that will continue to keep weight at healthy levels and your health at a optimum level, for type 2 diabetics a remission of the disease.
The other exciting news is that in this newsletter is the information email that we send out to people who are interested in joining the program. If you know anyone that is struggling with type 2 diabetes or other issues and that feel that getting healthy is the way to go, then all you need to do is just forward this email to them. They will then be able to register for a program of their choice.
There are three programs.
1. Commencing on the 9/4/14 a worldwide conference call / on-line meeting that anyone can attend from the comfort of their own home. This program commences on the PS. If you have not joined us on social media then use the links below to like our page on your favourite social media provider.
2. Commencing on the 22/4/14 a Sunshine Coast venue program that will be run in Glasshouse Mountains.

We would like to take the time to give you some information on exactly what this program is and how it works to normalise your sugar levels.

Expanded Detailed Version
1. The program is a 12 week free of charge program. People often say that 12 weeks is a long time. That is true. When you have a look at type 2 diabetes and you start to understand that it has taken many years to develop this disease and many people have actually had diabetes for many years, 12 weeks in this context is not really a long time. For the program to be effective you will need to join each 2 hour session for the 12 week period.
2. The program is purely a lifestyle change program. The aim is to do what doctors say we should and that is to change our lifestyle. We carry this out to a point where for most participants their sugar levels normalise and the doctor has no choice but to take away the blood sugar lowering medications.
3. The question is how does the program achieve this and what do we do with the 12 weeks? Here is a breakdown of the 12 weeks:
a) The first few weeks are dedicated to learning about type 2 diabetes. For most people when you say diabetes they will say that it is a sugar problem and if they are better informed they might say that that it is something to do with insulin resistancy. Whilst this is true it is not the whole picture. The reality is that type 2 diabetes is a complicated metabolic problem. We look at this in simple English but in some detail. We map out in point form the step by step breakdown of the metabolic system breakdown. For most people it is realisation that diabetes is not just a sugar problem but a much wider issue. We come to a very clear understanding what problems diabetes causes and how these issues occur.
b) We then have a look at the drugs that are prescribed to control this disease and how they work. Again we do this in simple English. At this stage most people can identify at which stage of the disease doctors will prescribe the different medications.
c) Once we have learned all of this we leave it to one side and we start looking at foods. In particular we look at our modern day foods, how they are made and what they mean to a diabetic. There is nothing more frustrating for a diabetic than walking into a supermarket and then trying to work out what is safe to buy and what they should not be buying. Our aim is that by the end of the program you can identify the appropriate foods from a distance.
d) We then do something that is fascinating. We ask is food is addictive? We look at the substances that are being used to manufacture foods and just how addictive they can be. We look at the addictiveness of processed sugar. We come to an understanding as to why people find it so difficult to stop eating certain foods. We answer the question ” why it is that people know that they should not be eating certain foods but why they continue to do so”? We are now at the end of 4 session.
e) At this point the group understands exactly what diabetes is, how our modern day foods are contributing to their condition and why they find it so hard to change the things that they are eating. It is at this point that people understand exactly what they need to do to pull the back into control their diabetic condition.
f) As a group we now design a lifestyle change. We put everything in place to ensure success. At this point of the program you will experience coaching. There are different ways of achieving the same result, you will have a lifestyle change designed that you are comfortable with and you will have everything in place to ensure that you will be successful.
g) As a group we carry out a lifestyle change. This is a 4 week period. During this period substantial weight is lost, for most diabetics the doctor takes away the sugar lowering medications, the diabetic situation is bought under control. At the end of this period you will be at a stage where the old processed foods have no attraction to you and mean nothing to you. You have reset your taste and you are ready to experience some of the most amazing foods you have ever eaten. This time the foods are helpful to you.
h) In the last two weeks of the program you are taken through step by step, recipe by recipe, meal by meal and day by day of exactly what to eat menu. All foods and dishes are based on as grown, whole foods with no processed ingredients. It is during this time that participants embrace a new lifestyle. Because of how the program is run and the experiences that people go through a long term lifestyle change is created in the last two weeks. This is a lifestyle change which means that people are very happy consuming an plant strong, as grown non processed , whole foods diet. Along with this change the enjoyment of food is higher than it ever has been. Because of this long term lifestyle change for the majority of people diabetes disappears into the background and it becomes a non issue.
4. We always encourage for participants to bring their partners along. We find that if partners understand what you are doing you will receive excellent support in your home environment and often partners carry out the same lifestyle change.
5. There is no charge for the program, however everyone knows that for a program to continue funds need to come from somewhere. We do ask participants at the end of the program to look at where they have come from and where they have arrived at. At that stage you be able to make an assessment as to what the value of the program has been for you. If at that point you decide support the program by a making a contribution, it will be appreciated by others as the contribution will allow them to experience what you just have. This approach allows us to maximise the amount of people that the program can help.
