Diabetic Health Clinic Newsletter – 19/5/13
We would like to say a big hello and welcome you to this weeks Diabetic Health Clinic newsletter.
It is amazing how much interest there is in the DHC Lifestyle program and in the way that we can modify our lifestyles to ensure that blood sugars are normalised. This weeks newsletter covers what we have done in the last 7 days. Most importantly feel free to forward this newsletter onto people who you know are struggling with type 2 diabetes.
Upcoming Diabetic Health Clinic Lifestyle Program
This week an article was published about the DHC Program in the Glasshouse Country News. You can view the article by following this link. The article was placed in the paper as we will be starting a new program in early June in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. We as yet have not decided on a venue as we are finalising numbers however the program will be run in the Glasshouse to Landsborough area. The response to the article has so far been great and we have a group together already. There are obviously a lot of people out there that want more information on how to best deal with diabetes and how to become healthy.
If you know anyone that is struggling with type 2 diabetes in the area please pass on this newsletter to them or ask them to check out www.diabetichealthclinic.org
We are looking forward to the next program, most of all we love seeing people reverse their diabetic condition.
New Recipes
This week we focused on simple recipes. Simple things that take virtually take no time to make but are very beneficial for people and especially beneficial for type 2 diabetics.
1. Lime Drink Recipe. This is a very easy drink to make. It gets around the issue of sugary drinks. As consumers we have substances added into our drinks, even the so called healthy ones. High Fructose Corn Syrup is common and for diabetics it is worse than sugar. Lime is very beneficial for diabetics so this drink is 10 out of 10 as far as refreshment goes and 10 out of 10 as far as health goes.
2. Pear and Cashew Desert. This desert is so easy to make that it is ridiculous. It is super healthy, very beneficial for diabetics and yum. You have to check this one out.
3. Chamomile Tea. This is an old favourite with many people. It is very calming but recent studies show that there are some great benefits for diabetics.
Breaking News
We also published a fascinating breaking news article. India is now in the Grips of a type 2 diabetes epidemic. As wealth increases so does the consumption of processed foods.
