Diabetic Health Clinic Newsletter – 28/10/2013
Greetings,
We can’t believe that this is 25th weekly letter. How time flies. As we walk around our shopping centres the Christmas bits and pieces are starting to slowly to appear. Yes the so called silly season is almost upon us. Why is it that we call it the silly season? Could it be that the old saying eat, drink and be merry is a big part of the silliness?
If in fact it is, we wonder how much the silly season contributes to damage that we do to our bodies? Just imagine how much weight is gained through just that short period of time. Then the massive effort that goes in to loose it again. For many people they never do. Then there are many people who have a predisposition to type 2 diabetes, the question is for how many people will the silly season pull the trigger on this horrid disease?
There is no doubt good reason why it is called the silly season. The point is that it does not have to be this way. Sure food needs to be enjoyed and we have certainly discovered that there are some amazing dishes that are purely based on as grown whole food recipes. Foods you can have as much as you like without damaging anything. They actually have the opposite effect. These foods have a healing effect. As a matter of fact you could eat this way everyday. Imagine if you created a lifestyle change that would allow you to eat just these types of foods. What do you think would happen to your health?
It is well worth going down this track. It is easier than you think. Why not do it now.
This week we added some interesting items to our web site.
GlocoTrack – Finally a non invasive glucometer will be released. This means that there will be no more pin pricks when measuring sugar levels. This is a welcome development that will make it so much easier for a large number of diabetics..
