But fruit has sugar?

Yes fruit does contain sugar. It is called fructose. Fructose has received a bad name and rightfully so. When it is extracted out of whole foods it becomes an isolated mono-nutrient. It is a purified, highly concentrated substance that has been chemically manipulated. Just like any processed foods this can be dangerous, especially for a type 2 diabetic. When a fruit is consumed and the natural fructose is consumed in the full context of the natural whole fruit, it is quite safe. Obviously eating fruit and nothing else would not be balanced, however having some fresh organic fruit for breakfast can only be good for you.

The rule is, if it is made in the garden you can eat it. That is the way nature designed it.
